The Blessings of the Holidays!

Posted by Family Man

This year is almost over and I am almost forced to look back on all that has happened in the life of my family. We added a new edition aka "Sammy", I got let go from my job because I was too Baptist, I started a new career, my daughter started the 1st grade, My Bride became a mother, we survived IKE (our roof and kitchen didn't), my sister had a son, my step mother passed away, and the list goes on.
I have to say that Lisanne and I have been through a lot already in our almost two years of being married, and I love her all the more for her being by my side to experience it all. The mark of a great wife is in her ability to stand with, encourage, and honor her husband even when he isn't the best example. Lisanne has done this, she has exceeded any expectations I could have put on our relationship. As a mom she is one of the most loving and caring I have ever met. She is the one person who loves me mor than anyone ever has, and this Holiday I am thankful for her in my life.
We have had the amazing experinece of being able to bring a child into this world. Sammy is truly a joy in our life, this little guy has had a rough time in his 5 months. He has been sick quite a bit, but he always makes a strong comeback. Emmilyn loves her little brother and I can say that this kid has got so many people around him who love him. What a blessing!
The Blessings for this holidays are not always presents, they are not always monetary things, they are not always having lights on a tree or even a Christmas Bonus (which this year was welcomed with open arms), they are not in Santa, or even in seeing snow in Texas. The true blessing is those who you celebrate it with, and I can say that you could strip everything away from me. All these things listed above, with the exception of my family.
If my family were the only ones to remain, then I would still have more than most. I know this sounds cheesy and like a cliche, but it is true. In my heart of hearts that is what it is all about!
First I say thanks my Lord and Savior for the best reason to celebrate his birth, life, and Resurrection, without those things I would not be able to have the family I have. Next I say thanks to my family for being there for me, Lisanne, Sammy, Emmilyn, my parents, The Reeves, and all my friends. You are all the best gifts a guy can ever have.
God Bless you all and Merry Christmas

You were the best thing to happen in Lisanne's life--don't ever forget that! Otherwise, I wouldn't have my beautiful Sammy as a grandson. He's looking more like you everyday. It blows me away!
