Well it seems that my lyrical genius is not enough to overcome my literary mistakes, LOL! But as I am reading the responses so far, many people seem to be giving me constructive criticism. This is the best kind, because it comes from those whom I love and respect. The opinion was given to show more Grace, and offer more solutions, and come up with new ideas. That is an amazing suggestion, so I will do so in future blogs. Please return from time to time to see what is being said on the fastest growing blog in America.....at least in my mind.
So what I am going to do is address one topic for right now, this would be the topic of our Economy. Our economy is in shambles right now, and we see it from Wall Street to Main Street. This great country was founded on morals and values and not on greed and obsession with power. Although many would probably disagree with me and begin stating issues our founding fathers had from slavery to the Big Gold Rush. However, this brings me to an important point I want to make about our economy. I believe that the state of our economy is deeper than our pockets, it's deeper than our investments, it's even deeper than how we were raised. It is a spiritual condition, it is a matter of the heart. Nothing has ever been more corrupted by man himself than his own heart. This is something that is so wide spread that it has had a profound affect on the Church, going beyond Wall Street. It is an issue that knows no age, socioeconomic background, race, creed, or gender. It is the spiritual state of our hearts, even those who call themselves Christians struggle with this very issue.
See you and I are Spiritual beings having a physical experience.....let me explain. Humans are the only creation that God made who are both in the physical and spiritual realms. A man was once asked if he wanted to hear about the Gospel, the man said, "Well I am not the spiritual type." Much to his demise he is spiritual whether he recognizes it or not, so he is bound at some point in time to make a spiritual decision in regards to which Spirit he will be lead by. The Holy Spirit or the Spirit of the World. OK back to the topic.
Our hearts have been turned away from God, others, and serving them both. With this being said what now do we do? Where do we go? What do we pray? Well I am glad you asked because I think there are some simple solutions to some rather large issues. First, those of us who call ourselves Christ Followers have to get back to the basics, managing our finances properly, so they don't manage us. We also need to allow God to mold our minds in the way we see our lives, and then ask Him to move us out of the way so he can do his work. Second, we need to share with others the hope that is in Christ, for it is by Grace that you are saved not of works lest any man should boast. This is the foundation and the keep to Joy, and Holiness....but it starts with us. How can we teach others how to live if we ourselves don't practice what we preach.
I have always said that the easiest thing to do as a Christian is preaching the message, but the hardest thing is to is living it. So lets start out the new year trying to repair this economy one prayer, one person, and one household at a time. Let's give God control of our finances, our homes, our lives, and our hearts will be yielded to Him. Take time to do these two things today.
Pray for yourself, ask God for his Kingdom to come in your life, his will to be done, on earth as it is in heaven, tell God you want to get in on His plans. Tell him to take your love, your acceptance, your grace, your mercy, and make it his. Ask God to move you out of the way so he can work.
Second, Ask the Holy Spirit to intercede for your family on your behalf, ask the Holy Spirit to bring peace into your home, bring peace in the life of others, so that all may know who Christ is, in a fresh and real way. Christ is the only true peace and without him there is none that can be found.
Have a blessed start to this grand new year 2009 The Year of Opportunity.
